Formula One: Jordan struggles in German warm-up
Eddie Jordan watched in horror this morning as both Jarno Trulli and Ricardo Zonta suffered problems with their cars just three hours ahead of the German Grand Prix.
Within minutes of the start of this morning's warm-up, the engine in Trulli's car blew as he was travelling down one of the long straits in Hockenheim.
Moments later, Zonta's car spun out midway through the 4.2-mile circuit and hurtled through the gravel into a tyre wall.
The thousands of fans watching the 30-minute warm-up session took great delight in seeing Jordan suffer following the sacking of local favourite Heinz-Harald Frentzen on Wednesday.
The Williams duo of Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya clocked the fastest times again this morning, albeit with their positions reversed.
Schumacher went round in 1:42.621, three-hundredths of second faster than Montoya, who starts in pole position in today's race.
McLaren's David Coulthard recorded the third-fastest time, with Ferrari team-mates Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello in fourth and fifth and Mika Hakkinen in sixth in the other McLaren.
