Premiership: McCarthy named as Royle seat possibility

Mick McCarthy has been named as a possible successor to Manchester City manager Joe Royle.

McCarthy spent four seasons at Maine Road as a player.

However, FAI president Pat Quigley has said he believes a McCarthy departure from the Republic of Ireland team is "out of the question".
