Motorsport: Boland comes third in Belgium
In rallying, Eamonn Boland/Anthony Nestor brought their NVD home in third place in Rallye de Wallonie in Belgium.
The Wexford driver lost over two minutes with a puncture on Saturday’s stages, but made a splendid recovery to finish third.
Roy White, from Tipperary, and his Northern Ireland co-driver, Michael Patterson, also finished in the top ten, they were seventh overall and third in Group N.
Both John McCluskey and Tom Holton retired and Aaron McHale was excluded for going OTL.

Alan Dwyer took a lights to flag win in the Formula Ford Zetec Championship first round at the new look Mondello Park. Noel Roddy was best in the Formula Euroseries and Liam Denning won the Fiat Puntos.

In the first round of the Irish Karting Championships at Kartworld, Watergrasshill, there were race wins for Mark Smith (100 Nationals); Stephen Drury (125 Nationals); Dean Keating (Cadets); Aaron Coby (Junior Eire); Joe Daly (Super Pro-Karts); Jonathan McCarthy (Junior Restricted); Colin Loughrey (Rotax Max) and Colin McCabe (Pro-Karts).
Tomorrow, action includes British F3 at Oulton Park, Formula Renault at Thruxton and IMRC race meeting at Mondello.
