Soccer: Sanchez handed touchline ban

Lawrie Sanchez has been fined £2,000 and handed a three-match touchline ban by the Football Association for his outburst at a linesman during the FA Cup quarter-final victory over Leicester.

Sanchez was furious that Wycombe's claims for a penalty were turned down when Stefan Oakes appeared to handle a cross when the score was 1-1 and the tie seemed to be heading for a replay.

He vented his frustration on the linesman and was banished from the dugout for the remainder of the match.

Forced to watch the closing stages on a TV monitor beneath the main stand, he saw substitute Roy Essandoh head an injury-time winner to book a semi-final clash with Liverpool at Villa Park.

Sanchez's three-match ban starts from April 23, which means that the Wycombe boss will be able to take his place in the dugout for Sunday's semi-final.
