Ken Doherty has made it through to the second round of the Regal Welsh Open in Cardiff by beating Dominic Dale by 5-3.

Dale took an early two-frame lead in front of his home crowd, but Doherty fought back and will now face either Anthony Hamilton or Quentin Han in his next match.
