Snooker: Doherty through to second round of Welsh Open

Ken Doherty has made it through to the second round of the Regal Welsh Open in Cardiff by beating Dominic Dale by 5-3.

Dale took an early two-frame lead in front of his home crowd, but Doherty fought back and will now face either Anthony Hamilton or Quentin Han in his next match.

Fellow Dubliner Fergal O'Brien is also in action later tonight when he takes on Englishman Gary Ponting.
