Egan went a ‘bit crazy’ for Ali’s shorts

Olympic silver medal-winning boxer Kenneth Egan is the proud owner of a piece of Muhammad Ali memorabilia — though he regretted the purchase at the time.

Egan, now a candidate for fine Gael, purchased a pair of shorts worn by the legendary fighter following a drunken splurge at an auction.

He told the Sunday Times: “I was drinking at the time and was trying to outbid the next guy. So I got a bit crazy. I’d prefer not to say how much I spent but it is definitely the most expensive thing I ever bought.
