Barry blown away Stateside as ESPN features wonder goal
Rebecca Barry, 19, was featured alongside Lionel Messi and LeBron James in ESPN Sports Centre’s Top 10 Plays of the Week, after her strike for Richmond Spiders in their 4-1 win over Temple University came in at number five on the cult list.
Barry’s goal owes a lot to the camogie skills she learned with St Ailbe’s in Ballybricken Bohermore, soloing her way through the Temple defence before lobbing the onrushing goalkeeper and finishing with aplomb from a tight angle.
