Terry’s Miracle can make all
Anthony Terry’s dog stumbled shortly after leaving traps last week but he was far from disgraced in defeat. Prior to that he showed real speed to finish second behind Broadstrand Dan. From what looks like a very good draw in trap two, he should have the pace to lead around along the inside and that will ask a real question of his rivals. There is likely to be trouble between the outside runners and the selection can slip clear to score at the expense of the promising Aghaburren Eoin.
Ryeourt Fox, who runs in race four, is a really likeable bitch and she recently served notice of a return to top form. Second behind Rathglass Gold last time, she was unfortunate in-running and with a clear run will take beating.
Peg Shanahan’s bitch would prefer a rails draw but she has the all-round speed to overcome her middle slot.
The Connolly’s Red Mills Irish Laurels gets underway at the track next weekend and Derby Plate runner-up Swift Marathon could mark himself down as a genuine contender for Classic honours if taking tonight’s closing race.
Seamus Graham’s dog should appreciate the drop back to 525 yards and while there will be plenty of competition for early supremacy, he has class in abundance and can lead all the way.
If there’s a value bet on the card it could be Patrick Barrett’s Dippy Champion in race five. He caught the eye in defeat here last time and is likely to outrun his odds.
