Patsy poised to follow up
Joe Collins’ bitch broke 29 seconds in a pre-Oaks trial and she smashed it with last week’s trap-to-line victory. She is not as well drawn this time and it’s vital that she clears Crossfield Tina on the run to the bend.
The pair met in the final of a stake at Limerick, from the same boxes, and Barrack Patsy missed the kick, but showed big pace to finish second to his rival here.
Off a level start, the selection should have the pace to turn in front and she’s taken to avenge that Limerick defeat.
The second semi-final is a very tight contest, but Blue Jet Sky produced a terrific effort from what looked a bad draw in the first round and she can also follow up.
John Kiely’s bitch is on the rails this time and if she shows the same level of early pace as she did then, she should advance victorious to the final.
Mainevalley Duo made a winning debut here back in June and while the time was modest, Liam O’Callaghan’s charge has got a lot of the right qualities.
Drawn on the rails in tonight’s third race, he looks certain to be prominent early and he should have too much pace in what looks a manageable assignment
