Rosetown set to bloom
Pat Quirke’s dog was noted staying on very strongly in good company last time and if he gets this extended trip, he’s going to take some holding.
There’s a shortage of early pace in the race and it would be no surprise if the selection was able to turn on or go close to the pace this time.
There isn’t a standout stayer amongst his rivals and neither is he guaranteed to see it out, but he certainly looks like he wants quite a bit further than 525 yards and is worth his chance over the trip.
Arcade Peggysue, who is surely better than she’s shown to date, and Taste Of Honey, who was a finalist in a decent A6 stake here late last year, are the most interesting of his rivals.
Galley Mojo catches the eye, dropped to the sprint distance for the first time, in race two. Adrian Kelly’s bitch is coming back after a lay-off, but she showed fine early dash on all five outings over the standard trip and if she can apply that starting ability to this race, she should not remain a maiden for much longer.
It’s not the strongest of races and the danger is likely to come from another sprinting newcomer, Toumpane Fancy, who is returning after an even longer absence. She, too, looks capable of making her mark in this discipline.
