Do we have to? I’m not suggesting for a moment the youngster’s amazing haul in the Youth Cup doesn’t warrant a glimmer of optimism, but it is always dangerous to big up someone so early in their career.

The pointless whining about the kid not getting on the bench in Prague was symbolic of the 21st Century’s “now now now” aesthetic that creates needless angst and gets so many managers sacked in the process.
