IF YOU hadn’t previously heard the famous F-worded Fergie quote about United’s historical challenge against Liverpool, you must have done by now: it’s been repeated ad nauseam by every newspaper since Saturday.

Though if one’s being picky, we haven’t ‘quite’ knocked Liverpool off their effing perch yet – we’ve simply joined them on it. For the time being, anyway. And nonetheless, the Scouse Liverbird is looking quite the sick parrot alongside us.
