EOIN LARKIN revealed his delight after following some of Kilkenny’s hurling greats by being awarded a Texaco Sports Star award last night.

The GAA’s Hurler of the Year capped a magnificent season by joining Footballer of the Year Sean Cavanagh and sports stars like Ken Egan and Aidan O’Brien at the awards ceremony in Dublin’s Four Seasons Hotel.

But it was following in the footsteps of past Cats greats like legendary forward Eddie Keher that pleased the half-forward most.
