We’re on song but chants struck the wrong note

WELL, we’re in it now.

If outsiders emphasise red cards, generous opponents and late goals, then let them. Winning while not playing well is widely accepted as the mark of a great side. Really it’s a bigger cliché than the ‘game of two halves’ we saw on Sunday and you’re more likely delaying the inevitable decline and backlash befitting your actual status.

But (you knew one was coming) there IS something different about this team, moving onwards from last season’s improvement. Twelve points from losing positions is no fluke.
