Clear case to be made for Jack
Denis Fitzgerald’s rising-star set the standard in the opening round, recording a clear-cut 28.64 success.
That was his third win from four starts and Clearwater Jack can continue on an upward curve here.
Sabnic reads the danger. This three-times winner was returning from a lay-off when an unlucky second in 29.16 and has plenty of scope for improvement.
Riverside Honcho looks the part in heat four.
Graham Holland’s runner got off the mark in style last week, beating Longvalley Jenny a length and a half in 28.66, and can confirm the placings.
Hellroad Tommy, a beaten favourite in the opening round, can recoup losses in heat six. A winner of four of his six starts, Ann Wade’s runner was having his first race at this venue when beaten a length and a half in 28.68 last week.
Likely to benefit for the experience, Hellroad Tommy can bounce back at the expense of early pacer and prolific scorer Vieri Black.
Heat three can go to Kimfresh Kuyt. This fellow made a promising reappearance, after a lengthy absence, last week, only giving best close home when second in 28.87. Open to improvement, Kimfresh Kuyt is preferred to the progressive Millabbey Colt.
