Demons look to bite back at Tigers

The Cup will be on display, but expect Demons, who were forced to hand it up after two years, to give it no more than a passing glance as they get back down to League business.

"We were up and running again on Monday night. We've got business to take care of," Demon's coach, Pat Price said.

"I thought it was important mentally to be back working and to turn the page.

"There is no better way for us to get the focus back and no better team than Tigers to refocus us."

Gleneagle Lakers beat Limerick in double overtime on Wednesday night and that helps Demon's situation in pursuit of a play-off place.

"What happens to Tralee from here on in is totally out of our hands so we are looking on it as a three horse race between ourselves, Neptune and Limerick for the two play-off spots. We have to take care of our business."

Tigers Player/Coach Chris Craig said, "We are back training tonight and we know we have a big game ahead. A couple of weeks ago we had a real possibility of a double. We've got the cup now, we got to enjoy it, so now it is back to business."

Both Michael Quirke and Kieran Donaghy are likely to be involved in the Cork v Kerry football match tonight so they will probably skip one of the Tigers' games. On Sunday they travel to Dublin to play Shamrock Rovers Hoops.

This is a big weekend for Neptune who play Waterford Crystal tomorrow night and Roma St. Vincent's on Sunday afternoon.

Like Demons, they will be happy with Lakers' victory over Limerick.

Sunday's game will mark the 20th anniversary of the opening of Neptune Stadium, still considered to be the spiritual home of Irish basketball.

St. Vincent's were the first team to visit and many if not most members of both the St. Vincent's team and, of course, Neptune, will be guests at a special lunch before the Sunday's game.

Elijah Warren has been a real find for Merry Monk Ballina. He hit 44 points on his last appearance and coach, Sean McHale, will be looking for more of the same when they play Star on Saturday.

The women's SuperLeague sees a repeat of Sunday's Cup final when DART Killester renew rivalry with UL Aughinish.

The two beaten Cup semi-finalists, Mustang Sally's St. Paul's and Vienna Woods Glanmire, will also meet in Killarney.
