Falcons soar to easy victory
Forde, who ended a decade-long retirement, scored 27 points for the Donoughmore side but they were no match for Falcons who had MVP Alison Smyth, Linda McKeon and Claudia Louis in spectacular form at the post.
Falcons had seven points on the scoreboard before Team Blarney Park found their bearings after five and a half minutes when Forde hit the first of her six three-pointers. It mattered little. Falcons built up a first quarter lead of 26-9.
Mary White popped three in succession to give the Cork girls a glimmer of hope but Falcons again upped gears and led 66-42 at half time.

THERE was a drama aplenty in the Men’s senior final. Sligo All Stars beat PV’s Longford Falcons 71-67 but only after a thrilling final minute as DJ Foster was dismissed for retaliation while team mate Keiran McGourty, was sent out to cool off after a minor altercation.
Sligo were four points up with 25 seconds on the clock, went to the line and Foster converted two free throws. A Longford player then pushed him, he retaliated and earned his marching orders. Falcons were then awarded four free throws and possession. Sam Tamargo the game’s top scorer with 29 points could convert just two and the title went to Sligo All Stars but the MVP award went to Falcon’s Rouldra Thomas.

MVP Ciaran White top-scored with 23 points as Shamrock Rovers Hoops claimed their third junior men’s cup title in four years.
Hoops led 19-14 at the end of the first quarter and Scott Kinevane’s three-pointer in the second last minute stretched their lead to seven points, 32-25. Four more points and Hoops led 36-26 at half time.
Michael Chubb hit two three-pointers and Philip Flannelly and Darren O’Moore combined for six points and, suddenly, there was just one point between them with one minute remaining. White then came to the rescue with a three-pointer and David O’Mahoney landed a big three.

DART Killester, who contested three finals, collected their only trophy of the weekend when taking the junior women’s title.
Killester dominated the early stages and led 24-18 at the end of the first quarter. Elaine Stone and Shauna O’Connor landed baskets to maintain their lead before Leah Westbrooks sent them into the half time break with a 15 point cushion, 48-33.
The margin widened to 21 points before Rachael Clancy and Louise Galvin led the UL revival, cutting the lead to 64-50 at the end of the third quarter. Louise Galvin kept the momentum going with a basket followed by a three-pointer. Leah Westbrooks replied with a three-pointer but Killester held on for an impressive 13-point win.
