IRELAND'S Michael Judge and England’s Joe Perry have reached the quarter-finals the Totesport Grand Prix quarter-finals in Preston.

Judge, a first-round conqueror of world number two Mark Williams, defeated another top-16 star to qualify for the last eight of a ranking event for just the second time.

He overcame 1998 Grand Prix runner-up Marco Fu 5-1, and said: “Marco was really nervous and that put me off.

“But the more matches you have, the more confident you get.”

World number 20 Perry knocked out Australian Neil Robertson by a 5-3 margin.

Paul Hunter brushed aside veteran Steve Davis 5-1, while local boy Ian McCulloch followed up his victory over Jimmy White by ending the title hopes of Stephen Hendry, beating him 5-3.
