At around the same time as the GAA were forcing upon Jim McGuinness’ team the now infamous six-day turnaround – the most barbaric form of punishment since the cat o’ nine tails – a judge in Belfast was quashing plans to upgrade the A5 road that runs between Derry and Aughnacloy on the Tyrone/Monaghan border.
