They were born just 15 days apart and the twin peaks of Jake O’Brien and Nathan Collins on show tonight could be central for any Ireland rebirth.

Compared to Collins, a Premier League starter since Brentford in 2023 who has swelled his cumulative transfer fees to €65m, fellow 23-year-old O’Brien had to be patient.
