On Wednesday, the last major adult game to be played under the old rules of Gaelic football was played at the Connacht Centre of Excellence at Bekan.

DCU deservedly beat UCD to win the Sigerson Cup. It was a match that was far better than the two semi-finals that had been played, but the playing of the Sigerson Cup competition under the old rules confirmed the need for change.
