He wouldn’t have been one of the big names. He still wouldn’t be, for all his prowess now as a coach and being the choice of Mount Rushmore figures like Billy and Jimmy.

But when that Cork team that won the All Ireland 25 years ago look back on their time, Kevin Murray has a tendency to crop up and how he wasn’t afraid to stand up for – and sometimes to – big names.
