Zebo zips round inside to claim Tipperary Cup

The final of the Thurles Fresh Milk Tipperary Cup was the feature of the weekend’s action, and 4-1 chance Dannys Zebo made the most of his inside line to claim the €7,000 winner’s prize for John O’Connell and the Exorcists Syndicate.

Wearing the red jacket he broke well and showed enough early pace to deny Collectionbasket a clear run as he held his position all the way to the bend. The latter was badly crowded out at that point, as Dannys Zebo slipped around in front, with All About Ya and Star Ace in chase.

The last-named showed pace to move onto the tail of the leader at the third bend but he conceded some valuable ground as he tried to mount his challenge. That left the leader to move some three clear off the final bend, and he did enough to deny the gallant effort of Star Ace by a length in 29.48, with All About Ya the same distance back in third.
