Antrim fans have no cause for complaint

A few things are bothering me about this All-Ireland final and they revolve around the complaints coming from Antrim about playing the game in Thurles and their fans feeling slighted again.

Antrim fans have no cause for complaint

It was agreed several years ago that Semple Stadium would become the permanent venue for the All-Ireland U21 final. Every team knows that from the start of every campaign.

What’s the problem for those supporters? How often do Antrim reach All-Ireland finals? How often are they asked to travel to Thurles, the finest hurling venue of them all? All that negativity is sending out the wrong message to the players. Where were those complaints before they played Wexford in the semi-final at the same venue? If you had offered them an All-Ireland final in Thurles before that game, I’d wager they’d have taken the hand off you.
