Wilmot proves too hot for O’Sullivan
O’Sullivan won the first two tips, but lost significant ground when he made a mistake with his fourth. Wilmot was almost a bowl in front at the top of the quarry hill. O’Sullivan then played two poor shots in succession to fall well over a bowl behind. Wilmot missed the steps with his next and O’Sullivan hit back with a great bowl to sight to bring the lead just under a bowl.
Wilmot played his next bowl into the right giving O’Sullivan a chance to get back into contention, but he beat the tip by just 60m. Wilmot punished his leniency with a great bowl towards Ballyhilty, which gave him over a bowl again. He increased his odds in the shots to sight. O’Sullivan reduced the lead at the novice line, but his next was poor and Wilmot ended the contest with a good reply.
