Angry Fans

He casts his eye over your comments and gives his own critical analysis of the goings on throughout the world of football.

You may agree with him or then again you may not. This week Beckham’s injuiry causing a stir; He’s not exactly Rooney; Who are the players Torres wants; Pool need to come fourth at Old Trafford; Let’s all laugh at Madrid and Kaka; Well done to Donovan; RTÉ to screen Irish soccer; Malouda deserves credit; Fulham have tradition, ya right; Talk of Rooney tiresome; Mourinho doesn’t lose at Stamford Bridge; Portsmouth secret millionaires.

The Letter of the Week goes to Declan Reilly, Cavan. Get in touch with your postal address and our magnificent prize will be winging its way to you before you know it.

BECKHAM's injured. That's a big so what for England. It's about as relevant as Matthew Upson or Michael Carrick missing the World Cup. He wasn't going to play anyway. Useful man to have round for the PR, bit photogenic, but they can take him along for those reasons anyway.

Brendan O'Toole, Co Mayo, by email

OUR SHOUT: Say what you like about Beckham but his commitment to the England cause has always been admirable. Agreed, he wouldn't have been much more than a passenger even if he did go to South Africa but I can understand if, almost for reasons of nostalgia, there's regret at the manner in which he has been ruled out. Red cards all 'round for kicking a man when he's done.
