Skywalker Queen handed tricky Champion Stakes draw

MORE than double the number of required entries was received for the Boylesports.com Champion Stakes which is set to commence at Shelbourne Park on Saturday.

As a result racing manager Declan Carey left a number of disappointed owners and trainers as he opted for the top eighteen to go into the main draw.

As we have all found out at times, it is impossible to please everybody and, in fairness, the standard of the line-up is well up to that of previous years. The draw has played its usual tricks and we have another potential “heat from hell” which features another meeting of the current Irish Derby and Oaks champions Shelbourne Aston and Skywalker Queen.
