Sea should be the star - if he turns up

THE Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh tomorrow centres very much on whether John Oxx decides to allow Sea The Stars to take his chance.

Certainly, his participation remains far from certain and if the ground, especially in the straight, doesn’t dry out over the next two days then there is a strong possibility Oxx will pull the plug and keep Sea The Stars in reserve for the ten furlongs Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.

For the moment we have to assume the son of Cape Cross will run and, if he does, it wouldn’t make a lot of sense to go looking elsewhere for the likely winner.
