Angry Fans

WITH Liam Mackey’s return to action taking longer than a Louis Saha comeback campaign super sub Allan Prosser takes to the field again to run the rule over our angry fans.

Angry Fans

This week the ongoing imbroglio at Newcastle United with Keegan and Shearer now being touted as a dream ticket; and the revelations from Anfield that Liverpool’s American owners held talks with Jurgen Klinsmann about replacing Rafael Benitez. Then there’s the potential Arab takeover; United’s trip to Saudi Arabia; Nicolas Anelka; the African Cup of Nations; Paul Robinson; Stewart Downing . . . and two straight red cards for moaning.

Letter of the week goes to John O’Reilly for introducing the voice of reason over the accelerating managerial merry-go-round. Let us have a postal address John.

SO the Sunderland fella who was boasting about attendances in his column recently — can he explain why only 20,821 turned up for their FA Cup tie at home to Wigan whereas the prawn sandwich munchers at Stamford Bridge pulled in nearly 42,000? Maybe if the Mackems had turned up they might have got past the 3rd round. It’s all very well filling your ground for the big games when it’s a quid for a kid but that doesn’t make you a big club. Out of the cup and out the premiership by Easter, cheer up Roy Keane.

OUR SHOUT: Fair point, but it will be a full house on February 9 when they have the veritable “six-pointer” at home to Wigan.

The rest of today's Angry Fans column is in today's newspaper and will appear here tomorrow.
