Angry Fans

The Examiner’s football correspondent Liam Mackey likes a good argument when he hears it, and he’s got strong views of his own.

Today, and every Tuesday, he will be acting as referee on your opinions on the Premiership. Let him know what you think and he’ll argue the toss with you. We’ll be offering a free sports prize to the star contribution each week. This week Eamon Dunphy’s views on Jewell; Jewel has all the credentials; Scotland’s failure to qualify; Let’s get back to basics the Premiership etc; What really did happen in Cyprus; Dolan wants Irish job; Venables talks a good job; Gerrard on foreigners and the cost of changing managers.

Letter of the week goes to Nick Gallagher, Dublin. Let’s have your address please and our glittering prize will be on his winging its way to you.

EAMON Dunphy says that Paul Jewell is an outstanding young English manager. Maybe he is but I doubt it Liam, and I doubt if there are any outstanding young English managers out there. Certainly there are none as good as the old school of Redknapp, Venables and Bobby Robson, all of whom encourage their teams to play football the way it should be played, not the limited game preferred by so many of the up and coming British managers of today. We can't get Redknapp but if we try hard enough we will get Venables. If we're going to go for a British manager then he’s our man.
