Ronan O'Gara: Jack Crowley might have the ball tilted too forward on the tee

Two and a half weekends into a five-game schedule in the Six Nations, it’s timely to take stock of some issues and trends, observations and concerns. For no reason better than I don’t want to start with referees, let’s look at Ireland first…and last.
Ronan O'Gara: Jack Crowley might have the ball tilted too forward on the tee

HELD UP: The Scots were rightly fuming when referee (and the TMO) eventually decreed that Sam Skinner had not claimed a match-winning try at Murrayfield

Ireland: looking back and forward.

The French tv coverage of Sunday’s Ireland-Italy game was noteworthy for the lavish praise for the performance of Jack Crowley from former French international Dimitri Yachvilli and his co-commentator. Jack got a nice try and his kicking was so-so. At least by his benchmarking. Incredibly, he’s only played eleven times for his country and already the conversation has projected forward to who will back him up at the next World Cup in 2027! Slow down people.
