The final day is all about one race. I know there will be six other winners, which will mean plenty to all those winning connections and punters, but it’s Gold Cup day, and the Gold Cup is the pinnacle of this whole sport, let alone this meeting.

It might be missing Gallopin Des Champs and Fact To File, but it's still a cracking renewal, with four new contenders looking to dethrone last year's winner, Iknowthewayurthinkin. He has been the subject of plenty of positive chat and rumour in the build-up to the meeting, but when all is said and done, and you look at his runs this season, he is hard to have faith in. Of course, his effort here last year warrants huge respect, but the horse we have all watched at Punchestown and Leopardstown this season is impossible to fancy.
