Ruby Walsh: Finding winners at Cheltenham Festival will be tricky

A LOT has happened since I filed this column for print last Friday afternoon, and most things become old news very quickly, but that doesn’t mean they should be forgotten. Constitution Hill and Marine Nationale disappeared off the Cheltenham radar on Monday, and both will be missed in their
respective contests.

Constitution Hill is the more significant blow for the meeting as a whole and for connections and fans. Iberico Lord jumped into the Champion Hurdle picture, and J P McManus splashed out on Meetingofthewaters and It’s On The Line. Willie Mullins nailed Ballyburn’s colours to the Gallagher Novice Hurdle mast, and the Arkle and Turners got even trickier with up to 10 millimetres of rain forecast for Cheltenham tomorrow.
