It was documented during the week how John Kiely filled two notebooks last autumn with the thoughts and reflections of everyone connected to the Limerick hurling squad in 2025, sitting down for 63 meetings, all lasting between two and three hours. Wow.

If you were to work that amount of time into a schedule, say a 9am to 5pm working day (and we’ll give John an hour for lunch, which I think he deserves!), accounting 2.5 hours for every meeting, that’s effectively a block of work lasting 23 days. If you say a six-day week, with one five-day week thrown in (a Bank Holiday!), that’s a full month’s work. Wow. Again.
