The Waterford County Board has obviously put a lot of money into Walsh Park in terms of facilities for spectators, but when I was there recently for the Waterford-Tipp Munster championship game what really caught my eye was the playing surface.

It was seriously impressive - you hear a lot of praise for the playing surfaces in Thurles and Pairc Ui Chaoimh, and it’s well deserved, but I think Walsh Park’s is now one of the best surfaces around.
