Away back in mists of time, or January to be more precise, it was necessary to look at the new world of Gaelic football and wonder who would survive and who would die.

It was, after all, a major change in the natural habitat – for some a potential extinction event, for others a chance to thrive and multiply. Think of the onset of the last Ice Age – a great time for people with igloo-making skills, not so good if you were running a beachside tiki bar.
