I was up at the Galway Races about five years ago when I ran into Michael Coleman. He started slagging me about the few extra pounds around my girth while he was still looking as lean as a racehorse, and that he could still possibly hurl for Galway, even though he was puffing a cigarette.

We started reminiscing about the old days, about how his Galway team inspired our Clare side in the 1990s. Ironically, Michael won an All-Star on the back of his performance against us in the 1995 All-Ireland semi-final.
