The GAA’s best competition period launches this Thursday. Representatives from all five participants in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship will descend on Cahir to promote the 50-day wonder.

As if it needs the press. Its opening two games on April 21, already dubbed “Savage Sunday” by Anthony Daly, are guarantee sell-outs. “Give me your three” should be the championship’s marketing slogan as trying to identify the counties to emerge from the province is what people are annually asking each other.
