Emergency services at the scene of dog attack on woman on Cork city's northside

Gardaí and other members of the Emergency Services are at the scene of an incident on Cork's northside in which a woman was attacked.

Gardaí and other Emergency Services representatives are understood to be at the scene of an incident on the north side of Cork city in which a woman was attacked by a dog.

Gardaí in Cork city confirmed the incident took place at around 7.30pm on Friday evening in the Glenfields Park area in Ballyvolane. 

The woman suffered what were described as "serious" injuries and has since been removed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.  

A vet is attending the scene, Gardaí told The Echo.
