Speaking of over-looking — the owners had three small children when they moved in so it took several months to realise they had views of Conna Castle from the front of their home: “There are fabulous historical tours of the restored castle and on one recently we could see our house from the castle.”

More modern assets include power showers and the air to water heating system contributing to the A2 BER. “There’s a fantastic big kitchen and dining room looking straight out to the patio and big garden with its outside office. This is a really substantial family home on a large site,” notes Adrianna Hegarty of Hegarty Properties.

The owners, who are moving on to a ‘different chapter’ while staying in the area, salute the community feel of the estate and of Conna village: “There’s no community like the one around here. It’s so welcoming and friendly.”

The warmth of the house itself is also hailed: “The air to water is so good, we didn’t even spend €100 a month on gas and electricity combined with hot water 24 hours a day. And being south-facing at the back we often don’t even need heating on.”
