  • Churchfield Allotments will hold an open day today, August 15, from 1pm-4pm as part of Cork Heritage Week. Entry is free, and all are welcome.
  • As part of events and displays taking place in Christ Church, Fermoy, P61Y072, for Heritage Week, Fermoy, Conna and Castlelyons flower and garden clubs are hosting a permanent display in the church from today, August 15, to August 23. Entry is free, and all are welcome. Viewing is from 11.30am to 7.30pm daily; further information on Facebook.
  • To celebrate National Heritage Week 2026, Head Gardener’s House at Fota will be open tomorrow, August 16, from 10am-4pm. This is a free event offering a self-guided tour of this house, now restored as self-catering accommodation. For further details, email bookings@irishlandmark.com.
  • Visit Bantry House gardens and grounds for free on August 19, as part of Heritage Week, from 10am-5pm at Bantry House Gardens, Seafield, Bantry, P75T293. See Heritageweek.ie.
  • Eileen O’Brien, Aoifa and Kinsale Garden & Flower Club, will host a demonstration on August 20 at 8pm at The Friary Centre, P17 WR88, in aid of the Kinsale Lourdes Youth Group. Entry €10 (cash only). Everyone welcome.
  • An open garden in aid of Marymount Hospice takes place at the garden of Margaret Naughton at Tara Garden, Fornaught, Donoughmore, Co Cork, P32 A308, on August 23, 11am-5pm.
  • Couch to Five Grasses: Learn how to identify five common grasses found in Ireland in a mini-workshop with ecologist Clare Heardman as part of the Ellen Hutchins Festival which runs in the Bantry Bay area from August 15-23. This free event takes place on August 23 at 2.30pm at Future Forests, Kealkil, Co Cork. Details at Eventbrite.ie and Ellenhutchins.com.
  • Youghal Flower & Garden Club will host a floral demonstration with Tricia Murphy on September 9 at 7.30pm at the Walter Raleigh Hotel, Youghal. Visitors welcome, €10.
  • Macroom Flower & Garden Club will host ‘Welcome Autumn’, a demonstration by Paula McAuliffe and Eilish Fitzgerald, on September 10 at 7.30pm at Coolcower House, Macroom, Co Cork, P12E135. There will be a sales table and a raffle of floral exhibits on the night. Visitors welcome, €10
