Dan MacCarthy: The ‘island’ in our capital city

BULL Island may be more famous in Ireland for a superb satirical programme than for this magnificent nature reserve in Dublin Bay. If that is the case, it is a pity, for Bull Island is a wonderful asset for our capital city.
It is at least the equal of the Phoenix Park, Dublin’s other great public park, but that depends on whether your inclinations are landward or seaward.
