Coláiste Stiofain Naofa (CSN) will hold its annual plant sale on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 17 and 18 . This sale showcases the work of the horticulture students at CSN. Plants available include annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, trees, and shrubs. Opening times 9am to 5pm. All welcome — but get there early to get the best.
East Cork Flower Club reminds those travelling to Ballyin Gardens, Lismore, Co Waterford, on Saturday, May 14, that the event replace the usual Monday night meeting.
Clonakilty GIY’s next meeting is on Monday, May 9, at 8pm in O’Donovans Hotel in the Venue (not the restaurant). We are delighted as we will be joined by John and Sevli from The Hollies Centre, Enniskeane. They will give a talk titled “Extending the growing season, by growing winter vegetables”.

Clonakilty Flower Club is hosting a Gala Charity Demonstration by Sandra Jackson AOIFA, in Fernhill House Hotel, on Monday, May 9, at 8pm. Supporting the AOIFA national charity, Irish Association for Cancer Research and local charity, the Children’s Leukemia Unit, Mercy Hospital, Cork. Tickets €15 including refreshments.
Ballincollig Flower and Garden Club is a holding a demonstration by Bernadette Palminteri, AOIFA, at 8pm on Monday, May 9, at the Oriel House Hotel, Ballincollig. The demonstration title is “Here comes the Summer” Regular Club Competition. Visitors welcome, admission for non-members € 5.
Kinsale Garden & Flower Club hosts a Teaching Demonstration with Maureen O’Keeffe, St Multose Hall, at 8.00pm on May 12.
The annual Garden Fete organised by the Cobh and Glanmire Union of Parishes, takes place on today Saturday, May 7, from 2.30pm in the grounds of St Mary’s and All Saints Church, Church Hill, Glanmire. Live music, super stalls, children’s corner, monster raffle, teas, and toys.
The Kenmare & District Garden Club are pleased to welcome Hester Forde of “Coosheen”, Glounthaune, Cork, who will be talkingabout Alpines and how to plant up a trough with these special plants. Thursday, May 12 at 7.30pm at The Gateway Methodist Church, Killarney Road, Kenmare. All welcome.
Kanturk Flower and Garden Club will meet on Wednesday night, May 11, in The Temperance Hall, (next to Alley Bar) Strand St, Kanturk, at 8pm, with Colin Buckley from the Hilly Hedge Company giving a talk and demonstration on ‘Maintenance and Planting of Hedges’.
