Sunday, August 23, is picnic day in Beaumont Quarry, a disused quarry near Blackrock which is being managed for nature and recreation.
The picnic is organised by the Cork Nature Network — an organisation that aims to involve everyone in appreciating nature and protecting the environment.
The picnic is free and includes a butterfly walk and a forage walk as well as face-painting and other activities.
Music is provided courtesy of the Lost Ghecko and cold drinks are also available, free of charge. Just bring a picnic and come along. For further information contact: eventscnn@gmail.com
Kinsale Garden & Flower Club meets on the second Thursday of every month at 8pm at St Multose Hall, Kinsale. We warmly welcome new members to our monthly demonstrations.

Cork GIY is starting off a new season with a visit to Future Orchard Trust, Upper Glanmire Bridge. The apples are dripping from the trees this year so it will be a good time to enjoy the setting of Cork’s award-winning model of community-supported agriculture.
