They include sweet peas which can also be sown at this time, or the next few months.

The benefit of autumn sowing is that you will have stronger plants earlier next year which will produce early and strong flowers.

Herbaceous beauties like lupins and delphiniums will take up to two years to flower and will benefit from being sown under glass now.

Cuttings of many plants such as fuchsias and geraniums will root freely over the next month and will ensure a ready supply for next year.
