The next meeting of the Passage, Glenbrook, Monkstown, Grow It Yourself group will be held on March 19 at 7.30pm in the Church of Ireland Hall, Passage West.

Coachford Flower and Garden Club present an evening of flower arranging with Margaret Ahern in Breathnach’s Courtyard Café on March 18 at 8 pm.
Ladysbridge and District Flower and Garden Club will meet on March 16 at 8.00pm in Garryvoe Hotel. Guest speaker Michael Kelly, freelance journalist, broadcaster, author and founder of GIY (Grow it yourself) will speak on vegetable growing. All welcome.
Know Your Onions. Free gardening class at The Secret Garden March 15 at 3pm. This week’s class covers all you need to know about growing the humble spud, plus onions and garlic. Rose Hickey will give a demonstration entitled the Joy of Spring on March 20 at 8pm. Admission is €10 and is in aid of Pieta House and St Anne’s Church in Castlemartyr and will take place in St Joseph’s Primary School in Castlemartyr. Gardening Talks @ Griffins of Dripsey Free event on March 14 at 2pm. A trip down Memory Lane. Our Mothers favourite’s Pansy week runs from March 15-22. On March 21 there will be talk on ‘The Power of the Pansy - instant Containers’.
A Sow and Grow Campaign will be launched next week by chef Lilly Higgins and the Minister for Education Jan O’Sullivan.
Grow It Yourself International has teamed up with Innocent to distribute seed packs and growing instructions for 20,000 primary schoolchildren to encourage a knowledge of where food comes from and to show just how easy it is to grow and enjoy the taste of homegrown food.
