Luscious leeks are worth a peek in your garden

Being a hardy lot, leeks are well suited to our Irish climate and along with being the national emblem of Wales they are somewhat of a stalwart superstar in the wonderful world of winter vegetable gardens.

Leeks (Allium porrum) have a long growing and harvest season and as with most vegetables, there are plenty of cultivars to choose from.
