Our gardening noticeboard

* The award-winning garden of Gertie and Maurice O’Donoghue at Dromboy, Carrignavar, will open this Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 6pm in aid of the Friends of Marymount.

The event includes a sculpture trail and plant sale. Signposted from Cork-Mallow Road (N20) at Rathduff and from Carrignavar Village.

* The Secret Garden will welcome author, TV & radio presenter, Fiann Ó Nualláin on Sunday, July 6, for a talk which will begin at 3pm sharp. Fiann will be making up a selection of recipes using plants from the garden, eg, treatment for sun burn and wasp stings, face masks, etc. The event is free and all are welcome.
