* Mitchelstown Flower & Garden Club will have a June outing to the garden of Enda Thompson Phelan in Clonohill, Co Laois, and to Gash Gardens on June 15 leaving at 10.00am from The Square. Bookings through Olga Yardley at 087 6564724 or Nora Finn at 025-24138 and cost of €60 includes refreshments; bus; gardens and evening meal.
* An Open Garden, coffee day and vintage display in aid of Cancer Treatment at CUH takes place at Frank and Valerie Jennings’ Cashel Beg, Enniskeane on the main Bandon-Clonakilty road on Sunday June 15 from 10am to 8pm.
* Castlelyons Open Gardens and afternoon tea on Sunday June 22 from 2—6 pm at the gardens of Margaret O’Flynn, Leary’s Cross and Maureen Buckley, Glenarouske in aid of Marymount Hospice and Castlelyons Tidy Towns. Plant Sale and raffle on the day. Admission €10 to include entry to both gardens and tea.
* The award-winning garden of Gertie and Maurice O’Donoghue at Dromboy, Carrignavar, will open on Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29, from 2pm to 6pm, in aid of the Friends of Marymount. The event includes a sculpture trail and plant sale. Signposted from Cork-Mallow Road (N20) at Rathduff and from Carrignavar Village.
* Peter Dowdall will present a gardening class at The Pavilion Garden Centre on Wed June 18 at 10.30am. Topic: ‘Getting the best from summer colour’. For more info see www.thepavilion.ie
