Tick the boxes for your spring clean

Carol O’Callaghan approaches the annual clutter-busting with the aid of a 10-point list.

Tick the boxes for your spring clean

Mild sunny days in the middle of the month had us thinking spring’s arrived. And while there’s a rise in temperature and a drop in wind speed, we’re back to dodging showers and nipping outside to clean dirt off windows splattered by debris thrown up by violent winds of late. The house seems brighter for it, but it also highlights problem areas indoors and the need for the annual clutter-busting campaign.

To make it less tortuous and something actually enjoyable, take your time and do not try to tackle your entire house in one day. It will exhaust you to the point where the job is never completed, and more than likely much of what you planned to throw out will just be put back.
